A campfire ban is in effect. Gas barbeques and propane firepits are permitted.
There are no significant fires near Radium, and the smoke from the other fires has only caused a haze to this point. You can always check our air quality by looking at the Radium webcam: http://images.drivebc.ca/bchighwaycam/pub/html/www/132.html
There is a bit of construction in one corner of our campground, and we apologize in advance for some noise and mess as we convert the tenting area into Premium full hook-ups. The encouragement we’ve had from those of you who have watched our progress is much appreciated. 38 through 207 are already in use. 208 through 211 will be open shortly. Pictures on face book page.

Campground Renovation Plans: Spring 2018
We have a good news / bad news story to tell, depending on your point of view. For those of you who have been frustrated trying to get a reservation for large serviced RV sites, we are expecting to have about eighteen more of them by the end of the 2018 season, with seven of them on the creek.
For those of you who have relied on us for tenting sites in the past, it’s the end of an era. We will no longer have any tenting in the park, either stand-alone or with an RV.
The market has changed dramatically during the thirty-seven years we have operated the Canyon RV Resort. There are more RVs now; they are much larger, and they require more services than previously. This change has been particularly apparent over the last five years. And over that same period, our tenting traffic has decreased every year. So we have consistently been left with empty tent sites while we are turning away RVers. We used all of our undeveloped land to build our Premium sites, so our only solution now is to convert the underused tent sites for the increased demand for RVs.
We regret the disappointment that this is going to cause our loyal customers who continued to tent-camp with us over generations, in some cases. We hesitated for several years in the hopes that we would see a recover in the tenting traffic, but it just hasn’t happened.
We have posted this notice early in 2018 so that campers seeking tent sites could make use of the Park Canada reservation program, which began in January for 2018 camping. Here is the link: https://reservation.pc/gc/ca/
The photograph below shows the changes we made to the former tenting area to accommodate the large rigs. We retained as many of the mature trees as we could, especially along the creek, and we will be planting new trees during the landscaping process to have them in the best locations as they grow.
At the same time as we are building these new sites, we will also be enlarging and adding services to our previously un-serviced RV sites to bring them up to the same standard. It’s hard to predict a firm construction schedule, given all of the contractors that we have to coordinate, so we won’t be taking any reservations on these new sites until we near completion. Stay tuned throughout Spring 2018 for progress reports and pictures.

Please remember! One Unit, One Vehicle per site. We do not have any additional parking for extra cars.
